When my grandmother (who just turned 96!!) was moving to her continuing care community a few months ago, she invited all us grandkids down to her house to root through all the stuff she didn't want to take with her, and I managed to snag some killer midcentury kitchen stuff, placemats, and miscellaneous bits & bobs. It was like I hit the jackpot on ebay, only it was free! I especially love the adorable chicken print (obvi., since I made it my banner!)

Great finds! The same thing happened to be about 2 years ago and I have tons of great stuff from my grandparents house too. Exactly like you said it was like free ebay! However, I've never been able to match that 'rush' of the 'good free stuff' - forever disappointment that it was a 1 time 'shopping' extravaganza!
