New favorite source: Casamidy furniture

If I were going to produce a furniture line, this is exactly what it would look like. The best thing about Casamidy is, their stuff really is not crazy expensive--not affordable for those of us who are broke, of course, but considering how gorgeous it is, and given that it's handmade, I'd normally expect it to cost a hell of a lot more. It is literally SO GOOD that a post attempting to show all the highlights would be three pages long; so since I've already shown you the best of the end tables, here is part two: the chairs.

The Symi armchair... be still, my wildly palpitating heart.

The Varenne opera chair

Which is also available in luminous nickel plate

and as a side chair

the Ixelles chaise

and the Ixelles solarium dining chair

I love that all these pieces are stunning in all 360 degrees... they're like evening gowns with some gorgeously unexpected detail in the back. It takes a great designer to think to make the back of a chair as beautiful as the front.

I like the opera chair. Yes it is interesting at 360 degrees.

They are beautiful, and without looking like you could never sit in them. Lovely!

I love all the leather bandage wrapped chairs... Why can't they make cribs out of that material? I'd like to avoid the baby jail look.

I zoomed around that site a few weeks ago when you featured that scrumptious leather-strapped table. There aren't many US outlets - a business opportunity?

Really clever pieces - love the mix of metal, wood and textiles.

I've loved that opera chair since the first time I saw it, years ago. I think HB or House and Garden once had a write-up on the couple behind the company. If I remember correctly they live in San Miguel de Allende (I want to go there soooo badly) AND keep a little pied a terre in Paris, lucky ducks! I remember their Paris apartment was very bohemian chic with lots of inherited treasures.
